How accurate is the AI identification?
Very accurate for common brands like Zippo, Ronson, and Dunhill — typically within 1–3 years on dating and ±20% on value. Accuracy improves with a clear bottom stamp photo. You can always correct any field manually after scanning.
Does it work for non-Zippo lighters?
Yes. The AI is trained across Ronson, Dunhill, Colibri, Evans, Imco, Scripto, and dozens of other brands. If it can't identify a brand, it will still estimate collectibility and value based on visible characteristics.
Will the insurance PDF be accepted by my insurance company?
Our reports are accepted by most standard homeowner and renter policies as supporting documentation. For individual items valued over $500, insurers typically also want a certified in-person appraisal — the PDF notes this explicitly.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your collection data stays in your account permanently — cancelling just returns you to the free 5-scans-per-month limit. You can export your full vault as a CSV any time while on Pro.
Can I share my collection publicly?
Yes. Set a username in Settings to get a shareable link like flamevault.app/vault/yourname. Purchase prices are never shown on public profiles.
How do the eBay prices work?
We pull active eBay listings for each lighter model using the eBay Browse API, filtered to the Lighters category. Results are cached for 6 hours. Links are affiliate links — we earn a small commission if you buy through one.
