These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of FlameVault (“Service,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use FlameVault.
FlameVault is an AI-powered cataloging tool for vintage lighter collectors. It allows you to photograph lighters, receive AI-generated identification and estimated valuations, store a digital inventory of your collection, and view market data from eBay.
AI valuations are estimates, not appraisals. The values shown are generated by AI based on market data and are intended as a starting reference point only. They are not professional appraisals, should not be used for insurance purposes without verification, and do not constitute financial advice. Actual market values vary based on condition, buyer, timing, and many other factors.
You must provide a valid email address and a password of at least 8 characters. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You may not share your account with others.
You must be at least 13 years old to use FlameVault. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement.
One person, one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent scan limits or other restrictions is prohibited and may result in all associated accounts being terminated.
Free accounts receive 5 AI scans per calendar month. Scans reset on the 1st of each month. Scans that identify a lighter as not collectible do not count against your limit. Unused scans do not roll over.
Pro accounts receive unlimited AI scans and access to additional features. The Pro plan is billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. Pricing is shown at the time of purchase.
Payments are processed by Stripe. You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time in Settings → Plan & Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then. We do not offer partial-month refunds, but if you experience a technical issue that prevented you from using the service, contact us and we’ll make it right.
We may change Pro pricing with 30 days’ notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect.
You own the photos you upload. By uploading them you grant FlameVault a limited license to store, display, and process them for the purpose of providing the Service — specifically, sending them to Anthropic’s Claude API for AI analysis and storing them in your vault.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any photos you submit. Do not upload photos you do not own or do not have permission to use.
When you delete a lighter or delete your account, your photos are removed from our storage. See our Privacy Policy for details.

FlameVault uses Claude (Anthropic) to identify lighters from photos. AI identification is not infallible. Identification confidence is shown explicitly for each scan (“High,” “Medium,” or “Low”). You should treat Low and Medium confidence results as a starting point and verify independently before making buying, selling, or insurance decisions.
We do not warrant that any identification, valuation, or other AI-generated output is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
Market prices shown in FlameVault are sourced from the eBay Browse API and are provided for informational purposes only. They reflect active eBay listings at or near the time of the query and are not a guarantee of actual sale price. FlameVault is not affiliated with eBay. eBay listing links may include affiliate tracking via the eBay Partner Network.
The FlameVault platform, name, logo, AI prompts, and codebase are owned by FlameVault. The Discover guides published at flamevault.app/discover are original content owned by FlameVault. You may not copy, reproduce, or republish them without permission.
You retain ownership of your photos and your collection data.
You may delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation. We will not terminate accounts without cause. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any unused prepaid Pro subscription time.
FlameVault is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI identifications will be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FlameVault’s total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid to FlameVault in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data loss.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Virginia.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
